Spiritual Life

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Saint Raphael School is, first and foremost, a Catholic school. Students receive daily religious instruction and our Catholic identity and mission are integrated into every aspect of our curriculum and student life.

Spirituality at Saint Raphael School is practiced throughout each and every school day.

  • Students begin the day with morning prayer as a whole school and pray throughout the day with their classes
  • Students attend Mass every week and the entire school attends Mass and prayer services monthly throughout the school year. Students help to plan the school masses and prayer services. They perform different ministries for the masses and prayer services by serving as lectors, choir members, musicians, providing hospitality, contributing to the environment, and more.
  • Living the Gospel and acting as Jesus' disciples is demonstrated throughout the campus by students, staff and families

SACRAMENTS

Second graders prepare for and receive First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Eighth graders prepare for and receive Confirmation. The sacrament of Baptism is available for those students desiring it.

SERVICE AND JUSTICE PROJECTS

Saint Raphael School students participate in acts of service and justice as concrete ways of living out the Catholic faith. Some examples include the annual Walk for the Poor, working with the parish Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, after school homework helpers, and more. In addition, all middle school students are required to complete a set number of service hours each year, in which they participate in various projects both on and off campus to help within the community.
